    2006 Galant Cabin Air filter?

    i have a 2006 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L 4 cylinder and was wondering if this car has a cabin air filter by the glovebox or close by ....if it does...does anyone have step by step on how i replace it?

    it dont have one. I searched this same question for a long time, finally bought a manual and it confirmed. I also have an 06

    better late than never...thanks for the reply...saved me time as i was withing a few weeks of finding the time to disassemble that area to find out.

    Usually an add on kit. Comes with filter, screws and cap.
    Remove glove box. Squeeze and pull out. Remove trim cover. Should be 4-6 phillip screws. Use a razor blade, and follow the indent on the blower box.

    whats the added benefit to adding one if the car didnt come equipped with one?

    Cleaner hvac air.
    Reduce the chance of having a clog ac drain.
    Reduce the chance of mode door binding with debris.

    thanks, guess ill just leave it alone since it didnt come equipped with one. not worth the "hassle" IMO

    I just bought one from an ebay seller. This was the cheapest one I can find with free shipping:

    It has to an oem kit, you'll need the cover, But I've read that some people had luck with just putting a tape on it.

    wow super thanks for the video, and that site rocks. ill check mine, i gave up after not ever seeing youtube videos or pictures and i was having problems finding the location and where to find it , but this video was great tutorial to learn from and the instructions are great on how to do it . thanks again
