I do hope its not that bad. But riding that low couldn't have been good thing. My guess you hit something due to ride height. But I'm curious to hear what happened.

I was turning left out onto the highway out by my buddy's house and the median is too close to make a sweeping left. I cut it too close and hit with the driver's side and the tranny took the hit

Bro I hate to say it, but we're you all there? Not buzzed or tired? Or fondoling a girls underwear?

I say so cuz the thing is yellow. Should stick out like a sore thumb. I've come close to these shits too but not by choice or accident, usually because some old fart in his caddy turning next to me on the outside lane wants to cut it close.

Well look at it like the car gods are making you go 5 speed.

I would focus more on that frame rail before considering a trans swap. Hopefully those fender gaps are screwed up from the bumper pulling on them, but something tells me that the bumper would rip off before tweaking the entire fender. From the way it seems the transmission hit on the median, I'm almost willing to bet the impact bent the frame rail as much as I hate to say it.

Look for anything warped where the rail drops down to the firewall. That is where the rally racers have found many unibodies to bend, which is why they reinforce them there.

The odd gaps don't look promising. I'm with M-Rod on this. It might be worth seeing what can be done on a frame machine, a minor tweak like that could be pulled. Also even if the frame rails turn out to be straight look at the subframe alignment. If its moved then alignments will be hell until its fixed.

The only other thing that could have moved the fender is the wheel hitting it, could have jammed itself into the fender and bent it.

Sucks to see dude, but hopefully you get it back on the road soon man.

Honestly, I hadn't eaten all afternoon so my sugar was off... Makes for rash decisions like this that kill me. I wish there was tang to blame on this, but it's all meeee!!

I'm hoping a 5 speed trans will come up somewhere for the cheap... I just don't know where to begin on this one really. I want 5 speed BELIEVE ME! Lololol

That's exactly what I was afraid of. Once I figure out what i need to get it "driveable" so I can get it on the frame machine. Hopefully this all looks worse than it really is.

    With my luck, it's bad.

The whole front is tweaked, so it's gotta be twisted somewhere. Maybe I get lucky and it's from the wheel hitting the fender, I doubt it with the suspension I have. How bad is subframe work? Any hints?

I'll look into reinforcing it as well, seeing as we have a shop and all. Or should I not mess with it?

Thanks guys for weighing in, I'll post more as I find out more. Any other suggestions? I'm wide open at this point. Donations are welcome too!

I just really want my car back. This shit is killing me. Although it was my own stupidity...

The subframe depends on how bad its come out of alignment. It could have bent the whole thing.

Usually if its just moved all you have to do is loosen it up and make sure it goes back up square, when it gets to where you've bent something is where it gets more difficult.

Having a few extended family members who are diabetic, use this as a lesson man, when you feel off, don't drive. One of my older cousins was in a really bad accident doing almost the same thing. It sucks when you are in a hurry and all, but slowing down or stopping when you start feeling it pays off in the end.

That being said, everyone makes mistakes and I hope this one is a cheap one for you.

    Rebirth of Drew's Galant

Got it on the lift. Trans is done, and the driver's side strut tower is pushed back a wee bit

So what's going on with the bumper? And where you plan on stashing the light bar? Only one?
