    spare tire well delete

Just have some ideas for a future project and one would involve removing the spare tire well. it would get welded up so the trunk would be flat. was wondering how much it would weaken the body structure of the car if any if it was taken out.

It won't weaken it but you'll pick weight and welding the thin sheet metal is a bitch. You'll spent a lot of time removing paint or you'll set it on fire with the welder.

If you're wondering, I have done this and am speaking from experience.

thanks for the heads up, how much weight would i pick up? would the thin sheet metal have to have any reinforcement strips welded to the underside of it or use any type of braceing?

if you dont mind me asking... why are you doing this? you could just as easily build a false floor to cover the area and u wouldnt have to loose ur spare

Dual exhaust has been done before, I think it does require some sledgehammer action to the spare well to find enough clearance.

Couldn't find Censee's build thread. But I see how Relax got his. Looks like from the pict that he put a Y pipe before the rear subframe. Just maybe push the bottom front in a little to make room for the piping to run across?

Censee doesn't have dual exhaust. Glantv699 from Texas did though.
