Those screws aren't super tight (normally), so if no screwdriver is going to work, I'd try getting a small but relatively sharp chisel, and using that and a small hammer, tap the screw with the chisel in a counter-clockwise fashion until you get it out. Although, looking at the picture, if you try a couple other screwdrivers, perhaps you can get one that sits in there perfectly.

Or, you can drill the head of the screw off and not run a screw there. If the rest of the door panel screws are in place, you won't miss that one. My old G didn't have the screw in there anymore.

or you could use a pick or dentist tool to clean out the X in the screw and use a little compressed air to get the crap out and get a #1 philips head screw driver and give it a try then. i cant remember if its a #1 or #2 bit so have both handy.

Lol I'm the opposite, I had all the other screws EXCEPT that one in both front doors in my old G, but thinking about it, that's probably a good idea to just run that one, the window trim and plastic pop rivets will keep it in rotational position and that one screw will secure it. Makes it quick to take the panel off if that's all you use. Interesting...

I once did not have that screw tightened completely, and the rattle nearly caused me run the damn car off the road!

Its a huge pet peeve of mine and I'm ANAL about rattles....I'm getting worked up just thinking about it.

Once I was riding shot gun in a friends car and the coins in the ashtray were rattling, it was driving me nuts like you wouldn't believe. So at a light I pulled it out, look at it then opened the door and dumped it out right there on the street, then took out a 5 and put it in there cuz there was more than a dollar but not more than 5. My friend was like wtf!

Ah yeah. Those felt pieces keep the vibes at bay.

Thanks for all the info guys, I really appreciate it! I'm cleaning the G tomorrow, since I haven't in weeks, and I'll try all these options. I'll post back tomorrow!

Actually come to think of it the first time i removed those they were a pain in the butt. Get the right sized screw driver and put some stank on it! Lol

No, but you gotta try the right size driver before you drill it lol. You gotta think, soda water sweat food ect had been in contact with that screw, its probably glued in by now lol
