In the how-to section there is a parts list and instructions on how to perform the swap. You may want to start there.

5 Speed, if you can just go to a pick N pull and get everything you need. If you have trouble or need help ask questions on here. Depending on where you source the parts and if you upgrade to a light weight flywheel and stronger pressure plate you will be under your 1700 budget.

This is what I made for my swap:

5 Speed trans and mount and shifter cable bracket
    Flywheel
    Clutch/pressure plate
    Manual Starter Plate (#1055A022)
    Shifter base assembly
    Shifter cables (# MR357824)
    Clutch pedal
5 speed brake pedal (or you can cut your auto one)
    Clutch fluid line
    Clutch Slave and master cylinders
    Clutch fluid cup
If you have a V6 then on your passenger axle bracket just take a drill and make your holes and littler bigger. I got the 5 speed axle but it would have been easier to just to drill the holes bigger.

    V6 Throw out bearing MR145619
    Shifter cables MR357824

    Rubber plugs:
    Service Hole MD747412
    V6 Fork Release boot MD747413

I spent about 500 including 2 different fluids. Used Pennzoil Synchromesh and didn't like it, shifts were to notchy. Replaced with Redline MT 75w-90 way better.
