    Timing marks reference

Finally done with the rebuild, jus wanna make sure I have the crank marks in the rite place cuz there's two I see on mine. Please don't tell me to "search" or check threads. Jus need a simple confirmation. All of my other marks are in place. Thanks in advance

Uhh sir, you have to search sir...

Kidding, there is only one timing mark you should be lined up to. There's a line on your pulley (looks like it's just above the 3:00 location in the picture) that should line up with a casting marking on your block (which that I don't see in the picture). Not sure where the casting's exact location is, but I believe it's in the 12:00 position. Looks like you are doing the v6 timing belt.

That is, without a doubt, the 4 cyl.

Perhaps this is what you're after?

Okay, so you're saying that the notch on the gear is the actual marking and not the little paint dots? I started it up today for the first time in a year and it cranked a ran fine for a while. Then I tried to give it some gas and it died on me. Every since then it hasn't been wanting to catch a spark. It's like it's out of time or out of gas. I sure hope it's something stupid like timing

You have to use the notch on the trigger wheel behind the gear. And line it up to the tab on the block where the diagram shows it

Yup that's lined up as well as the others. Still won't start for some reason. I'm pretty upset because it jus cranked up fine last night. Oh well. Guess I'll get back in the garage and try to figure it out! Thanks guys for the help and advice!

Lmao man I got ripped for that mistake...

I should of known it was the 4cyl, the v6 doesn't have the oil pump sprocket to the right of it. My bad =(

Yea there's plenty fuel.. How likely is it that it could've slipped out of time though? I re timed it 3 times all with the same result. It's getting gas and it's freshly rebuilt. Guess I fucked up somewhere down the line

Yea. I noticed the plate behind the sprocket had a couple dents on the edge of it. I'll shoot to the junkyard tomorro and grab another one, I'm hoping this is the problem

Tested spark plugs yesterday and found out I wasn't getting any spark. Very low on cash at this point so I'll be picking up coil packs from the junkyard later on. Hopefully this resolves the issue

your crank sensor is the issue i feel. it the only thing that you messed with after your changed the timing belt. are you sure you didn't put it on backwards? Blue wire should be on the bottom if your looking at it from the passenger wheel well

Yea that's what I feel too unfortunately. But I'm pretty sure it's not on backwards. The metal part that reads the plate is facing down and looks like this. I'm jus going to buy a new one.. I put the coils in and still no spark. Fml

Problem solved! It was the crank sensor like you said. Thanks for your help guys! Now to slap the wheels on and test drive it
