    99 8g 6g72 maual swap

ok its time for me to manual swap my 99 8g 6g72. just got the donor car yesterday it a 01 eclipse spyder gt.
now i know how to swap the tranny but my real questions are should i take the ecu
and wiring harness from the 3g or should i just try and trick my ecu for the 8g after the swap is complete.
now everything is still in this car for a complete swap just wondering what kind of problems im going to be running into
as far as the auto to manual ecu's go?

if anyone could help answer my questions it would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I would just get the patch for your PCM to get rid of the codes.

According to the tutorial the 99 8G's wont throw the CEL.

Start by swapping in the transmission, bypass the neutral saftey and wire the reverse lights in using the stock harness and stock ECU. If anything comes up post about it here.

^ it really is as simple as that for the 99. No check engine light, no immobilizer, no speedo issue. Just a happy manual swap.

If it doesn't cost you anything extra and you have the time to get to it, I would pull the eclipse ECU anyway. But like several have already said, the 1999 does not throw any CELs. Both M-Rod and I have done the swap.
