climate control problems

Hey, guys. Just got my 99 galant on the road and the climate control does not light up and the heat control (all the way to the left) makes a ratcheting sound when you turn it, and does not change the level of heat that I can tell. I assume the lights are just bulbs, but I'm wondering if the other problem is something I can fix, or should I just get another one? Anyone who might have run into this before, I would really appreciate your input.

There's a cable attached to the climate control that moves the heater core valve. Cable is likely kinked and will need replacing.


Lights are just bulbs. Size 74. Try upgrading to LED.
