"Darling im a nightmare dressed like a daydream". 4g63lover's DD 01 LS #tswizzle

I have always wanted an EVO. Most people who know me well, knows its been my dream car for a while. A few months ago, I decided that by the end of this year, I will have an EVO. Either a white EVO IX or a White EVO X. This meant one thing though, I had to get rid of a car payment. At the moment, we had our 2010 Mazda3 and my daily driver 2011 Lancer.

I was looking for older Lancers at first, and when I went to go look at a Lancer at a local dealership, I saw this beauty.

I took it out for a test drive and I didnt want to get out.

Well, we are a little upside down on the Lancer, mainly because I packed the miles on in a short period of time, and we had about a year left on the Mazda. So as much as I hated to get rid of the Mazda, BOOM gone she went, and I was down to one car payment a month and in another 8G.

The first day I took her home.

LS, 100k miles, sunroof, leather, premium sound, etc. Paint was clean and it was essentially rust free. Towers are clean as well as the quarters.

I threw my Lancers winter set up on her. Around this time I started calling her Taylor Swift. Haha. Hence why she has been dubbed "tswizzle"

The 205/60/16 General Altimax made Tswizzle look like a monster truck!

As far as my wife knew, it was going to be my daily driver and staying stock.

    That didnt last long.

Got all the parts from 00galantguy. 5-speed swap parts, coilovers, transmission, etc.

I dont have a lot of pictures of progress but The coils are on, and she is 5speed swapped.

I dont have many plans for her at the moment because I use her as a daily driver. I need to do some housekeeping, some maintenance like tierod and tierod ends because the jam nut is a pain to adjust right now and toe arms for the rear. The car is pretty clean but the cam bolts for the rear toe adjust are really in there.

I figure I drive her til the 72 dies, at that point get another daily and throw a 3.8 in tswizzle.

As of right now, she looks like this. Excuse the shitty pictures, I took all of about 10 minutes to snap these.

That lip is sitting low as F$:#.....
    Shes looking tough.. Good job.
That negative camber will eat some tires UP though.

Thanks man!! Yeah it needs a toe adjustment at the moment. I'm on an eyeball alignment right now and it doesn't seem too bad. I still gotta do the inner tie rods and tie rod ends then I can do a real alignment. The blue car has always had ATLEAST -3 camber and with the toe adjusted properly I never had any premature wear in the 10 years I've owned it.

-3 *? I will have to try that out.

Your not afraid of ripping that lip off sitting that low?

  17. #17
IIRC -3* isn't very much past factory camber specs.

Man, I'm so jealous of the amount of snow you have!! Here in Idaho the snow is not constant yet, not enough to do any snow drift :(
Quick question, where did you get those window visors? are they double-side taped or clipped on? looks really good!!
