car pops on acceleration and looses power

When I accelerate from 0 in my 2.4l 4 cylinder car it
pops and fells like it has no power its stops after a couple pops but when I stop and accelerate again it does the same thing I don't know how to fix it or what's wrong

is the check engine light on? it could be misfiring. that could lead to a faulty spark plug or ignition coil or maybe even an injector or low fuel pressure.

Or it could have pop back and a clogged cat. I've seen that happen to.

if the cat was clogged you can pull the upper o2 sensor and see if it runs any better. itll be much louder but if the popping goes away then look down at the cat for clogs. if you cant see it, thread a compression gauge in the upper o2 sensor and see what the back pressure is at idle. it shouldnt be more than 2-3 psi at idle. any more, you have a clogged cat.
