how to replace driver side tail light assembly?

    Hello,

I have tried to take the old tal light assembly off myself buy cannot seem to get the darn piece off. have looked online to find a step by step process on how to change the driver side tail light assembly on a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant(9th Gen). I've posted a couple pictures of the old one on the car currently and the new one. i had a car crash into my while i was ! PARKED ! at college.

Does anyone know how to replace this part ? also possibly a step by step guide?

Thank you for any help you can provide :)

I replaced the passenger one on my 07 and the light assembly looks the same
    My steps:
    -Open the trunk
-Pull back the carpet that is behind the taillight assembly
-There are 2(if i remember correctly) nuts that you will have to remove (believe they are 10 or 12mm)
-Once the nuts are off the taillight should pull straight out from the outside (it may be kind of stiff at first so wiggle it around while pulling)
-Then pop in the new assembly and bolt it back up

If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. I can take a couple pics if you really need
    Good luck
ps. Sorry to hear about the accident. Same thing happened to me while at work one day
