    Replacing Balancer/Pulley (2.4)

The belt that drives the power steering and A/C came apart on my 2000 2.4L. This afternoon I went to replace it, got it on and it promptly blew it off when I started the car. I put it back on and the same thing happened.

I found that the balancer/pulley on the crank has a piece missing out of it:

What's involved in replacing this? Does that big bolt in the middle have to come off or just the 4 small bolts around it? And is it one piece where there's the groove for the alternator belt as well or two pieces where this is just for the power steering/AC belt?

It's a one piece and only the 4 smaller bolts come off to replace it.

    Cool, thanks.

Yeah it was just those 4 bolts and took some persuading with a mallet.

I was able to move the outer pulley by hand while it was still on the engine and the rubber part was coming apart. I guess it was a good time to replace it.
