IIHS Small Overlap Crash Test of 9G Galant

This document is from when the IIHS was developing their newest, small-overlap offset crash test. Apparently the 9th-gen Galant does better than other sedans of the era (and even some cars sold today).

The Good rating may or may not be equivalent to an official Good IIHS rating based on their completed protocol.

Notably, this generation of Galant, introduced in 2003 (!) performs:
    • better than the newer MY2008 8th-generation Accord
    • around as well as the MY2013 9th-generation Accord
    • significantly better than the MY2007 XV40 Camry (based on test of 2012 Lexus ES)
    • better than the MY2012 XV50 Camry.

Pretty cool information! My 2001 that I smashed up did quite well after a 70mph offset impact ( I walked away).
