Car shuts off while driving

Just bought a galant. It was working fine until a few days ago. It randomly shuts off, it DOESNT start immediately, I have to wait 10-15 mins then starts up runs for a while then dies again. I've been reading a lot and I think it might be the fuel pump. But if anybody got any ideas how I else I can diagnose it, by any means open ears

What happens when you try to start it up right after it dies?

It doesn't start up. I have to wait for 10-15 minutes for it to start again. It threw me a code and it said the crankshaft position sensor. Would that cause the problem ? And how do I fix it ?

have you had any luck fixing the random shut off of your galant? my 2001 starting doing the same thing and after replacing the water pump, timing belt cam sensor and crank sensor twice my mechanic still can't fix it after 6 weeks in the shop. he tried a new ecu but he can't get that to work. im at a loss here.
