    RPM

Just wondering... on a 4-cly Galant; what RPM are you running while going 70mph? Mines 3000. It seems high, but it might be just because its a 4-cyl.

EDIT: Mines fed spec if that matters.

I have a 7G, also 3000RPM. I think Galant has a higher RPM than other cars. I have tried Corolla and Avalon, they just hit around 2500 RPM.

It wasn't. I've owned 2 8g Galants so far, 1 a 4 banger and 1 a V6. The numbers you just compared to were on my V6. My 4 cylinder held steady at about the same RPM as yours.

yeah...if you're gunnin' it coming off of an onramp...and you should only be doing 60 for a second before it shifts into 3rd and you take off. if that's steady 5500 rpms doing 60, there's something wrong there. if you're rpms are that high in second gear and you're going a steady 60 mph, you either need to stop trying to shift manually, or you need to find out why your car's not shifting into 3rd.
