Help Please!

I just had my car timing belt and water pump replaced b/c it's at 67,000 miles. The next day we go to drive the car and it's still cold my fiancee will press on the gas and the car doesn't go anywhere and it stalled. So we took it back to our mechanic and he said he forgot to connect the sensor. So we're like okay because we have been going to him for a long time and he has always done good work. So we bring it home and the next day it does it again but it's not as bad nor is it stalling. When it's cold when my fiancee presses on the gas it kinda of just stays there and then all of a sudden picks up. Has anybody has this happen to them or know what it could be? Oh and by the way the car is a 98 ES.

You paid good money to the mechanic.
Go back and tell him the story and ask him to fix it properly.
