    Removing the chrome door trim?

Has anyone ever removed the chrome trim that outlines the doors? I want to pull it all off. (I have never liked the chrome look on my G.)

The top pieces come off rather easily. The bottom parts are giving me some trouble though.

If I had a silver G I would definitely stick with the chrome look. Since I have a red one though, I am going for the red and black look. I did my grill last weekend. (Took out the teeth, put in a mesh and painted it all black.)

Tim, why not try some blackout tape. It's at the auto parts store. It's vinyl with a dull finish used to cover chrome accessories.

Good idea. I will try it out and see how it looks.

I removed the top chrome pieces the other day at work. I have a white ES so it looks better now w/o the chome. I kept the bottom chrome strip however because I'm going for the GTZ look. The DEs I see have black trim all around. I did see som blackout tape at the Autozone near me. Maybe something like that would be useful.
