How to Shave emblems

I really am confused about what it means to shave your emblems. I have a white galant and i would like to know how to get my emblems white. can someone walk me through this process?

shaving ur emblems means removing them from ur car, to do that just take some fishing line and "floss" the emblem off any remaining glue on ur car just use some goo-gone and some good ol fashion elbow grease to get it off then make sure u wax that area real good. now if u want ur chrome emblems white remove them in the same way sand them down real good and paint them white, use a coat of primer a few coats of color and the a few coats of clear. to put them back on remove all the old adhesive and use some 3m double sided tape u can find this at autozone its called molding tape it black tape with red paper.
