    2000 Galant VR-4 to Domestic?

    Anyone think we could fit the stuff from this (Link Above) car:



    Into a Domestic 8G? :shock:

    Righty-Drive though, that'd take one heck of a conversion.

    Its worth it though, to get a domesticated (ROFL) 2000 Galant VR-4

    Is the VR-4 available in the Philipines? If so, I'd have good luck bringing one over from there...girlfriend is from there I wonder what shipping and making this sucker street legal would take? I think I'll go with a JP or Aussie VR-4 just so I can learn to shift with my left hand.

    Being street legal is only one of your problems. You're forgetting the VR-4 requires a different grade of gasoline altogether, which is not offered in the United States.

    What type of gas is required? I dont think this is any concern, even though it is TT, the compression ratio is sufficient to work on 95 OCT. Though I could be wrong.

    yes japans gas is so much better than ours...and i dont think u can find 95 gas any werr (for a daily driver n/e way)

    For $3.69 per gallon you can fill your ride up with 100 OCT at a place just south of Chicago here... now that's about what they pay for regular gasoline in Japan (Maybe Cheaper) If you can import a VR-4 you can damn well afford to fuel it well.

    damn...well i was quoted 22000 for a 7g vr4 with left hand drive, emissions, etc...which is affordable...and yea thats about right the gas price in japan...but i damn sure couldnt afford 4$ a gall0n (i wish i could)...but this was jusst a quote...ill try to find the web site...btw i used to live in the s. suburbs wherr is this at (for gas)...i might be movin up therr next yr

    I used to think this, but what about the Skylines, EVO 7s and Honda Type Rs being brought over?

    Also, remember that in Japan, the way they rate octance is a different method than we rate it here. They use the RON system, while in the US we average two different measures. From what I have read, 100 RON in Japan is abiout the same as 94 octane here in the US. I can get 93/94 in Minneapolis, in California it's tougher to find.

    yeah that doesn't make any sence. Why are people trying to swap VR-4 engines into there Galants when there going to have a hell of a time getting gas. :?:

    VR4's have to use 98+ octane otherwise ECU goes into save mode so your loose a lot of Power
    Octane boosters are not recommended either
    Service is every 4500 miles at Mits dealer

    US emision laws are high so you would possibly loose more bhp to this as well

    Your best bet of bringing one over is if your in the service. I just dont know why nobody from TGC thats from the service have done this yet.
    I remember when U.S used to have a base back in the Phil. My dad, Uncle, their friends & politicians wait til the ships arrive w/ a ship load of american cars
    I dont know what the deal is in the service now to ship an import car to the U.S though since it was like 30 + years ago...

    hey there's a gas station near me w/ 101 octane unleaded "trick" fuel http://www.schube.com/racegas.html the link for Canoga Park. What I want to know is w/ my I4 will it do anything? Like better mileage, cleaner running, better idle? what will it do? VR-4, wish I could import one...(im getting close to being visually JDM)
