    1998 Galant - Engine Swap

I have a 1998 Galant with the standard 2.4L, 4 cylinder engine. The head gasket went a couple of months ago and the engine is now useless. I would like to swap in the 3.0L V6 from the newer models. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so what would it require? If not I will be swapping in a used 2.4L.

Also, the ignition won't respond. When the key is turned dash lights come on but no engine turnover. Most likely a starter problem but I'd appreciate any feedback on that as well. Thank you.

Not likely unless you have mad cash.

Your best bet is to buy a 4G63T from an Eclipse/Laser/Talon.

Use the "Search" option for further info.

no chance in the world an 8g v6 would fit. either u can import the 6a12tt engine(twin turbo v6 from the 7g vr4) or go 4g63t. 4g63t is way easier both in finding the parts and doing the work.

    4g63t:
    200hp
    205ftlbs
    respectably...
    7g for life!
