1997 galant security start

:?: Recently purchased a 1997 galant with the security starter. I am having such problems starting this car. The dealer told me to push the key all the way to start first, then bring it back to acc or on, then push to start again. 95% of the time this does not work. I sometimes have to sit there for minutes trying to start this car.
Does anyone know the secret formula? Am I doing it wrong? If someone can tell me the secret code, it sure would be helpful.

Welcome to the club, I for one dont have remote start on my car yet but maybe you could go to a sound and security shop and they could check it out for you.
