    Brake Lights

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, or know what the problem is? My brake lights seem to have a short in it somewhere. The lights will work fine for a period of time, and then suddenly they will just stop working. When this first started happening, you had to kick the fuse box to get the lights to come back on. They worked for about a month, but now when the brake lights go out, hitting the fuse box doesn't work. I was wondering if you guys think it's a short in the wiring from the fuse box, wiring that is loose, a faulty brake switch, or what? I would rather fix it myself if its the brake switch. i don't want to go to the dealership and get overcharged for something that is easy to fix.

if it was being fixed by kicking the fuse box then you should pull the fuse box and look behind it to see if the connections for your brake fuse are good, they are probably loose and now are so loose that kicking it won't help get contact between the wires.
