    Idle Control Sensor???

alright, the other day i was cruisin, and i glanced down to see the check engine light was on... went to auto zone, they searched for the plug, no luck. went to another auto zone, they couldnt find it after looking for about 10 minutes, so i get down and look, BAM! right in front of my face. i plug it in for him, he reads it, and they said something was wrong with the idle control sensor i believe its called... needless to say, the moron had no idea what to do, so he said, go to a mechanic... anybody have any idea how to fix it? what could be wrong?

its PROBABLY a failing idle motor. but as they cost about 350 bucks, id have it professionally inspected first.

our galants dont have ISCs but we do have IACs. mine went bad too, car idled fine on cold starts but when you did a warm start it jumped to a 2k rpm idle. you could adjust the biss and lower the idle but it will only be higher on the next start.

i ended up trading moosh a 1g isc(that was bad causing him problems ) for his stock tb and iac. i used to have a 1g tb on but took it off and returned to stock. i also bypassed the coolant lines to the tb which serves no purpose but antifreeze was leaking into the tb b/c i didnt seel off the isc part very well. so yah im back to stock now and everything works great
    7g for life!

Coolant lines are there to open up or close a second air valve that is kinda "heat activated" much like a thermostat works. People who live in constant warm climates can get away with a coolant bypass, those of us in NY with 20 deg winters need that coolant to open the second valve or the car will stall in the winter time.

hes right but for one thing... nearly NO one can get away with it.

that is there for a reason. do not bypass it, or the car will never idle correctly.
