some people put a popper in a location in the car, somewhere hidden like the inside wheel well under the car. if you don put one in then if you car is out of battery then you will need to jimmy the car.

Hey Cali - or anyone else, do you know what a body shop would charge to do that? Im assuming its a relatively easy job to just fill it and have it painted, but then again I have no clue. Any help would be great, thanks!

keep in mind that u dont have to get just the body work done, ur gonna have to get all the different mechanisms that would pop the door out ajar just enough so u can open it

Yeah I realize that, im just trying to get an estimate on the body work alone for now.

i was thinking about that, and as was mentioned earlier, there should be a manual open switch installed somewhere installed in case something goes wrong. my question is..what would stop just anyone from opening ur door if they knew where ur "secret" release switch was?

would it be possible to mount that switch in the trunk somewhere? since there would still be a keyhole there?

there's another way to get in....no electrical current is needed it's all manual....and no im not gonna share it with people on the board....any good body shop person will know what to do. i've used it a couple times when my battery had died out on me.

iv been wanting to do this to my G. Me and my friend did it on his 2G eclipse but its still primered so doing the shaved handles i can do. my question is if i do this to my G will the whole door need to be painted and two if only just a square around the door handle needs to be painted about how much will that cost and will the paint match the stock silver paint with the sparkles in it. dont want to how do i say this.............i know "i dont want to fix it if its not broken" if you guys know what i mean.

Rear door handle does not fits on front door, I tried it and the rear is flatter than front and leaves a nasty gap...

damn. that's what i was going to do. i don't know how what to do about the keylocks then. i was going to take my door apart any way, so if i find some way or some different handle that fits, i'll post it.
