    Injen Intake filters

hey, I bent my filter for my RD injen and bought a replacement through Ptuning. I just got it in the mail. It's 2 3/4 and fits perfectly, but why is it smaller then my original one? The original filter is like twice the size. With the splash guard it use to fit tightly together and now there is liek a 2 finger gap all around. IS ths how its suppose to be? Will I loose any of the small horsepower the intake gives me in the first place? or will i just loose some sound?
Accident. Deemed Unfixable. Got a check for it.

if the filter fits on the pipe correctly, then you're good to go. if it doesn't then thats not ok. thats the important part. the side of the actual filter won't really affect anything. its just a matter of how long it will take the filter to get dirty and the size and shape in relation to where it fits,.
