Thule Roof Bars

Just got a set of thule roof bars (or rather a new set of feet for some roof bars I used on my 6g galant), and I don't like the way there's a bloody great gap around the feet (exposing the gutter).

On top of the aesthetics, I seems to create a whistling noise at speed.

Any suggestion, mods, kit that can make these more pleasing?
