I don't think that was too bad a price...
That was a good price considering the low mileage for a '00 car.
    G's suck at resale value.
Not really...I just was at the right place at the right time for mine. The guy was going to trade it in, and I offered him cash for what the dealer was going to give him on trade. I was joking when I said it, but he thought I was serious. So I took him up on it.

No really, the resale value on this car is truely horrible. I got mine for $8k at one year old, luckily I got it at a great price through a dealer auction, but as you can see many people paids upwards of $15-20k+. Today they are worth around $6-8k.

Bought mine 02 ES brand new when they just came out, and still paying for it. With a huge interest rate like mine, my monthly payment is prolly one of the highest on here... $462.55/mo.

I bought my 1999 ES V6 brand new on May 24, 1999. I paid $23,425.43 which includes all taxes and fees as well as an extended warranty and put down $6,000. I also got 0.9% financing, so I only paid a little over $300 in interest.

As far as mods and stuff goes, I lost count at $15,000 which was some time ago.

My First 8G was a 99'ES with 12k miles, I bought it in August of 02' For $13k....invested about $5k worth of ICE, body kit and rims..car was totalled by a drunk driver on this day April 4th of 2004. The value of the car was less then I owed the bank, so I got nothing back, lucky I had gap insurance.

Then on April 10th of 2004, I bought the 2nd 8G, another 99'ES, 60k miles, I paid $5000 total out the door. I got over $15k invested into this one, prolly $12k of it in go fast parts.

Then now, in August of 2005, I got a a 97 DE with 120k for $1400, as a beater. It is the best beater around......

see, there are some of us that make no sense... you are probably at around $45K+ and i know VEGASMATT, CALI (on his second G now) and CENSEE have dropped big change as well since we've been at it for a while now. guys, it might seem like too much money but it just adds up real quick and before you know it, you've spent ridiculous cash on a car that others don't see as a tuner and may never understand. tuning these cars is not cheap and when we started, it was even worse since parts were either non-existent, custom or had to b imported at huge expense. you guys that are just starting to tune the USDM 8G have it much easier now, trust me.

btw, i apologize in advance since i know i foregot some people that are in the $45K+ range. i'm just too depressed to think about it.

I got mine (its an 02) back in 03-04 for 10,900 with 54,000 miles. It is a pearl white GTZ. I was looking at an Audi A4(I think late 90's) for 10,900 but my uncle (Parts and Service manager) didn't want me to buy it bc we said it would cost him too much to fix. So anyway he gave me the Galant for the same price, even tho it was on the lot for a tad higher.

Lets just say I got a very very good warrenty from him when I bought the car.
