It should work...the pulley systems from either the 4g63, DOHC 4g64, or the SOHC 4g64 are the same. Mounting points should be the same too. I think it would work. I would try NAPA though...they sell reman or aftermarket parts that are close or meet OEM specs.

i was comparing the napa prices with the dealer prices and they are pretty close. if you aren't gonna return the core (you might want it for some other reason) then i think it would actually be cheaper to head over to the dealer to get the alternator. but if you do plan on returning hte core, you'll save about 30-50 bucks compared to the dealer's prices.

They dont have any galant specific but I think they have 2g eclipse models. If you hadn't noticed...alt/battery power has a huge effect on your engine. When the alt/bat voltage drops, your fuel trims fly out of control and car get angry..
