    ALTERNATOR EMERGENCY!!!

Sorry for the title, but this is my daily driver....

Just got a new alternator in the mail....90 amp!!! I'm all excited but...the connector/harness whatever you want to call it...is different...my old one is a horizontal 2-prong...my new one is a vertical 4-prong...so you can see my dilemma.....what do I do?

My 97 has 4 prong connector that looks like your new alts connector.

    wire colors are:
    red/black stripe
    red
    white
    yellow

So you could run to a junkyard and pickup a connector and splice your wires onto it. I dont know what the GS wire colors are those in relation to the later 7gs.

the yellow and black/red wires go to ecu, and since you have a different ecu, it probably doesn't need it..

you can double check everything over here:

there's a small artefact from my scanner, but it's not too bad

could you give me a breakdown of the order the wires are in? maybe from left to right or....take a pic? so I know what wires go to which pins on my alternator??? I'm probably going to find a harness tomorrow, but if not, I need to solder these to their proper locations or clip them on somehow...

Thanks for that diagram Russian.......helped me out alot!
