they're only doin that to the 9g because they know they screwed up with the looks (horrible) and they didnt make enough performance for the 8g...so they're tryin to fix 2 big mistakes....stupid mitsu

Mitsubishi Sapporo Turbo, the first, the best and the most beautiful car I've ever owned.
No matter how sweet it is, it wouldn't even compare to a VR4 with 10 lbs of elephant shit in the trunk.

I think what they need to do is give the whole galant line the same exterior and have options on everything else.. engine, sunroof etc. Look at Nissan. You couldn't tell one Altima from the other if it wasn't for some badging and some rims with the fully equiped models. The base 9g's are trash.. the GTZ is pretty okay.. Plus they'd save $$ standardizing the exteriors.
Why doesn't Ralliart sell aftermarket upgrades for Mitsubishi cars??
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(GPTourer)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Ralliart Galant and the Ralliart Endeavor will have the same 260hp/260 lb/ft of torque that the 4G Eclipse will get. Notice the pull ring on the Galant shifter - it will have a 6 speed transmission (like the Eclipse) don't know what the Endeavor had tranny wise. They claim the some form of Ralliart Galant will see production as a 2006 model. The Endeavor had a 30 inch plasma screen that will most likely not see production.
I have seen both the Raider (truck) and 4G Eclipse in their debut commercials, but not in person. The Raider looks nice, but is nothing like the concept. The Eclipse is off the chain and is very close to the concept.</div> I also read that the Ralliart Galant has a cold air intake from Road Race Engineering. The one thing I'm not clear about is if the current 3.8 liter V6 is the same MIVEC as in the Ralliart?

Umm...they did. It just didn't make it to the U.S. market.

The current 3.8L used in the Galants and Endeavors that you can buy right now does not have MIVEC.
That figures. What's the difference. Is it just a computer program or and additional cam? Thanks for the info!Originally Posted by GPTourer
That's the basic idea, except the engine will probably still be SOHC, just that each cam will have more lobes. I also think the whole head will have to be re-engineered to some extent to accept the MIVEC. I don't think could just buy an ECU, a cam and stick it in an existing car.
I hope it is just a matter of computer mapping and a cam. 30 H.P. is a nice jump with just that. One thing I didn't see with the Ralliart is no explanation of all wheel drive. My car needs it bad or at least a limited slip diff. Even at 230 H.P. which I beleive to be underrated, the tires break loose easily and often. Every time I turn the traction control off they let loose as low as 4000 rpm. I am still experimenting with the traction control to see what net's better acceleration. Most of the time I have it off, but I don't now if it retards timing or if it's a mechanical method of traction control. My RX8 retards timing as well as applying the breaks so I kept it off because it really killed acceleration and the car's low polar moment of inertia naturaly kept the car in check most of the time without it. One thing I can say about my GTS's handling is it fools you into thinking the car is much smaller and lighter then it is. Yes, it's that good for a big front driver! One of the things that persuaded me over the Altima and it has much more room then the Mazda 6s which was my other choice.
I have yet to see a LSD on an automatic FWD. Nissan has the helical ATB (not quite true LSD, Quaife style) available on their 5(6) speeds. I hope Mitsu has something up their sleeve for at least the Eclipse (and Ral Galant if they are really going to do it.) But then, on the other hand, I haven't seen a Mitsu with traction control on an manual V6 (GTS Eclipse). It seems you get one or the other, but not both.
We all know they could do it, but I don't see Mitsu doing anything but countering the competition (Altima SE-R, Mazda 6) with similar hardware instead of raising the bar with AWD. That's the Evolution's job.
Maybe someday someone with a 9G will get bold enough to weld the rear subrame from an AWD Endeavor under their car and make the first 9G-VR4.
meh'
prob never make it stateside
