comparing my options

I am looking for a newer car from a luxury japanese car maker. here are the cars that me and my fiancee are looking at:

I am looking in the 7-9 grand price range
97-99 Acura CL or TL with around 100k miles
97-99 Lexus ES300 with around 100k miles
(I can move over my 3year warranty to either of these cars)

Now, here's the conumdrum, the 97G ES I own now only has 59k miles on it. It runs hard and smooth, almost perfect shape the car is in, one clip has came off the front bumper, but the dealer said that would be a free fix. The interior is clean and straight, as well as the rest of the body. I know that she is worth 5-6 grand but only 4 grand on trade in.

Now, is it worth it? I love my Mitsubishi, but I have enough knowledge to say it is not as reliable as either Acura or Lexus. These cars are in good-great condition but are not showroom spec like the ones that run 10 grand and up. I have a platinum warranty from my credit union that cover almost everything but bodywork that will be transferred to the Lexus or the Acura.

What are your opinions and would you suggest anything else in the 7-9k price range? It should be a midsize asian sedan.

Both cars are very good choices...the better choice would probably be the Lexus ES300...its a bit more refined luxury wise. The Acura is a bit more "sport" luxury...either or, both are a step from a 7g. Personally...I love my galant, but if I was going to step to luxury its going to be AT LEAST 2 years old.

By buddy Dan has the ES300, he's taken pretty good care of it, I'd say he has nearly 90K and it's running good. Acura's are nice as well, but you get alot of nice features with the Lexus...what about a 95-97 BMW?

like a BMW 3-series? it would be nice, but the reliability isn't that great on German cars, although they have some nice cars. Also, the prices of repairs on a BMW would cost more than repairs on a Japanese sedan.

is the i dont know i would like a cl/tl 4door if it was me... but yea an es 300 would seem more luxurious....

the four door version is the TL and the coupe is the CL, i'm leaning more towards four doors as well.

And there are different things i like about both the Tl and the ES300 and I cannot make up my damn mind.

Acura 3.2 TL, massive power advantage (218hp), sportier, looks bad ass, possible nav system, and my fav part, it's made by Honda (i have owned 3 accords)

Lexus ES300, more luxurious ride, looks nice, more prestige owning a lexus, more reliability, possible security system, and my fav part, it's made by Toyota (i have owned two camrys)

This car will be used for hauling groceries, taking family to and from school and work, and for me to look good in. I love sporty cars, but I also want to slow down a bit and go slow in a luxury sedan.
