i know i allready told you how to do this ( yup right here ) and i thought you had read it but i guess not (or else you have worst short term memory in history). but for everyone else's information...

there is a way to get a wider lip on the rear wheel while keeping the SAME width and the SAME offset as the front wheels. a company called AXIS WHEELS has a series of wheels with the MAXIS lip system. in effect since the rear calipers on all cars are smaller than the front (the front brakes do the majority of the work in stopping), the face of the rear wheels can curve back further and still not touch the caliper, thus giving you a wider rear lip and deep dish look while maintaining the overall width and offset of the front wheels. you can also do this w/ some expensive japanese wheels which are offered in different face profiles (large caliper/medium caliper/small caliper); these differing face profiles are made to clear large front brakes but can also b used in the same fashion as the MAXIS system to hug smaller brakes in the rear. keep in mind different face profiles are only offerd on higher end wheels like VOLK, WORK, SSR as well as custom made wheels like HRE.

Whatever you do Neel, get +48 offset wheels. I got them and they tuck nicely ( 18 x 7.5 ) without rolling the fenders. My alignment in the back is also set a -2.5 degrees on both sides. My tires will be cool as long as I rotate them every 8,000 to 10,000 miles.

    You should get these in 19 x 8 rear and 18 x 8 front.

No they don't. If a wheel has a lower offset it will have a 'wider' lip.

www.wheelmax.com have some nice AZA split 5 spokes (exactly like mine) but in a staggered set up. They're kinda pricy but they are really nice.

Hmmm, I bet those wheels sit pretty close to the suspension. I wouldn't try a +48mm offset with rims wider than 7.5" though.

you will need a wide body kit or fender flares for either of those wheels to fit your car. did you miss my post again (hint: AXIS WHEELS, MAXIS system lip) or did you just not understand it?

AXIS WHEELS FAQ[/url]]What are staggered wheels? a popular trend is coming back for both cars and trucks is called "staggered" or "staggering". Staggering wheels involves using wheels of different width and/or diameter on the front and rear of the vehicle for a more stunning or aggressive look. This can also allow for a wider tire on the rear depending on the car. Axis even went a step further with their new Maxis lip, which allows the staggered look on cars that can't take a wider wheel in the rear. Already popular with the Volkswagen, Acura, Honda, Scion and the Audi crowds the Maxis lip is going to bring the staggered look back in a very big way. Before you jump in with both feet and order a set of staggered wheels, there are some things to consider. One is fitment, as not all cars can take a larger wheel and tire combo in back. Even our Maxis Lip needs to have a car with small enough calipers on the rear to fit. Secondly is proper tire rotation. Instead of being able to rotate front to rear and vice-versa, you wil have to rotate left to right, and if your tires are directional, you will have to get them unmounted and re-mounted on the other side. Not impossible, just a little more costly (who said it's easy to be beautiful?).
btw, the widest wheels anyone has put on the USDM 8G so far is 8.5". the rear fender on our cars is actually tighter (narrower and shorter radius) than the front. so that's why i told you, in one of your other posts where you asked this question b4, you would need a really narrow front tire and wheel if you truly wanted to do an actual stagger fitament since the rear can only b 8.5' at the most (and at that width you will almost definately have to roll your fenders for clearance).

That's not necessarily true. It also depends on the style or even the manufacturer of the wheel. My last two wheels were +42 (RacingHart) and +40 (Velox) and both had a 2 to 2.5" lip. GalantESP had OZ racing wheels with +38 and had to roll his fenders and the wheels had no lip at all.

Rota wheels, 5Zigen and Axis are wheels that I can think of that has a +48 wheel with a nice lip on it.

everything is explained in this post already. i dont know much about about staggered fitments on 8g's and i already understand what size rims i would need from reading these posts. its not rocket science. its plain english
