This brings up a good point. Are there any warning signs to watch out for before the trans goes? My car has a relatively low amount of mileage and I'm planning on keeping it at least 2 years. I'm figuring on 15-20k per year which would put it at 130k when I sell it. Can I prevent this?

it's going to go out at some point, you can try to delay it by driving the car like a grandma and don't even think about "manual" shifting

Friday night i heard a metal grinding on metal sound and buzzing, i thought it was the brakes so i didnt drive it saturday and sunday changed the brakes...when i took it for a test drive it gave out, so i guess that noise was a warning sign

mine died in reverse, heard a grinding noise and then a pop, and the engine stalled

my second one died at 3000 rpms just got stuck there and then everything dropped to 0, car died again

    my third one got pulled

my 4th one got stuck at 6000 rpms in 4th gear

and my 5th one was fine when i sold my car but i heard that its slipping now from the new owner
