get a more powerful spark, run wider plug gaps, better mileage, smoother revs, smoother and faster starting. not bad for the serious enthusiast. I'm sure price would be better elsewhere
plug and play for the 4g64

yes!!!!
plug and play ignitions are rare indeed.
most all 2g ignitions aren't plug and play. not bad.

the guys at msd said it had to do with the transisters inside the coils frying here is the email they sent me
Dear Sir,
Unfortunately we do not offer an ignition system for your application,
the factory ignition on your application has a transistorized/coil
assembly, and with this type of set up you will not be able to adapt an
aftermarket ignition. If you do try to install it, it will damage the
transistors internally and will not start on factory ignition, plus the
transistor have to remain in place for the factory ignition.
Thanks,
MSD Tech
i only know of one person that had an msd setup in a 3g/8g and that was 1badrs but he had the tec3 EMS so that doesnt really help those of us still using the stock ecu

im pretty sure 1badrs had a sds ems, the tec3 has its own ignition coils
yeah 1badrs had an SDS Standalone. There has to be a way to wire it up, but I guess with the HKS one there is no need for guess work. Although HKS had no intentions of that box ever being made for the 3g, its actually for an EVO and just happens to fit the 3g.
