awsome find!
it has begun! he he he...
oh wow...this is gonna be good if someone gets that..which they definitly should!
The gains from the dyno sheet don't look impressive. Maybe they were conservative since probably those motors have pretty high compression I assume...8:5:1 pistons and turn up the boost I say!
1991 Galant VR4 1948/2000_________1996 Galant "S" 5 speed 2.4L turbo
honestly i think a 100 peak whp gain is pretty sweet.
not bad torque numbers either.
i think torque could be improved as well.
i can't believe they run that thing so lean. yikes.
looks like it needs a fuel system upgrade for sure if they want to make more power
appears to pull all the way to 6100, a 3.8l v6 can really move some air. gotta have an effieciant turbo to keep up with that.
i'm impressed. they did that dyno run only 4 weeks into the project
i'm sure there is plenty of time to sqeeze more juice out of it. I mean, this IS a brand new engine for the mitsu tuner community to play with. i owuldn't expect enormous gains during the preliminaries.
at least not until they've found out what this motor is capable of.
here is the stock 4th gen eclipse dyno

Great news, wanderingpinoy! Leave it to the Eclipse, the most aftermarket, modified import car in history, to bring true performance for our 04-05 Galant's. Truely the best Galant ever made, the VR4 aside. . Some of us have been impatient for true performance parts, but a few years wait ain't that bad. If it wasn't for the new gen Eclipse, we wouldn't be seeing this at all. So thank you 06 Eclipse, I'm shedding a tear of happiness.Originally Posted by wanderingpinoy

7g for life!
They will need to do a seperate tune for the Galant, due to the absence of MIVEC and the 30+ H.P. difference from the Eclipse! I don't know what the average dyno #s for the 3.8 liter Galant are. Anyone get theirs dynoed yet? I always assumed the H.P. from Mitsu was understated. I can tell you My GTS feels faster than my former 03 V6 Accord, considering it's heavier weight. Although, that may be due to the total absence of torque in the Accord, or any Honda for that matter. In any case, it's sure nice to know that turbo's and REAL performance parts are on the way for the 9th gens. At my age, I don't know if I'll be getting into any of it. In stock form the car is already much more fun to drive from a performance standpoint, compared to my Accord and some of the other cars I owned, "Heck" even a very mild F.I. would make this car a blast to drive, while taking care of it's weight disadvantage!
i was going to say... it might be more impressive if these cars didn't weigh so damn much... but still pretty cool
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(thebirdman13)</div><div class='quotemain'>i was going to say... it might be more impressive if these cars didn't weigh so damn much... but still pretty cool</div>I know the weight is a issue but, it's also front drive. The extra weight from the cast iron block pushes down over the front wheels to help keep the tires planted. The front of the car is raised more then the back, which helps with traction as well. I know it doesn't look as good as a lowered car with minimal gap, but it's purpose is effective.
Anyone know the website or phone number to this company? I'd like to ask them some questions.
Dragongts: I saw your input on Ripps forum. I called them a few times to express my strong interest on something for my GTS, unfortunately they never called back! The more interest they get, the faster they will start producing. It wouldn't be a bad idea to talk with ripp and see if we can get a group buy on a staged kit for the 3.8 liter V6. Theres gotta be at least 10 of us that want one!
I know man! I've called approx. 5 or 6 times and have yet to hear back from them. I did however receive an email from them stating that they will begin working on the 6G75 engine in order to produce a kit. The Only thing, is that with the abscence of MIVEC, we will def. need a diff. tune. But you are right, if we keep calling, and in a way harrasing them, we should get some kind of response.
right now though, I am really interested in swapping my heads with the eclipses mivec heads. I keep telling my buddy, who works for Mitsu, to see what other parts I would need i.e. pcm, ecu, etc. in order to get the conversion done. but we'll see what happens. will most def. keep everyone posted. :ironchief2:

right now I am still researching everything I can with the help of my buddy to see exactly all of the components that I would need in order to make the swap complete. hopefully once everything is said and done, and I do say hopefully, I will def. keep everyone updated.
