From what I have been told you can eithe ruse Megasquirt v2.2 or v3 and just need a few sensors depending on what you want to do(Fuel, Spark, Boost, ect). Megasquirt is a very capable tuning system at a very cheap price. It definitely isnt the most user friendly but the info is there, just have to read a lot.

a good friend of mine knows a fair bit, he converted a bmw 2002 from carbeuration to efi, hit me on aim, ill see if he can help ya
ya i was thinkin about using it on my E30. im bumping it up to a 3.0 litre making it a 330i instead of the 325's they made in that time period. i was looking at it for my bmw but wondering if anyones ever used it for theyre galant. seems like a good idea with like 7g's and 8g's using DSM manifolds
