yup thats the sound of a broken belt. Not so much the belt but your Harmonic balancer is broken and grinding the side of your engine bay.

    Harmonic Balancer= Crank Pulley.

Not how fast your car goes but how good u drive going fast.

the crankshaft pulley runs the altnator and ac belts. theres a rubber piece in the middle of the crankshaft pulley known as the harmonic balancer. they tend to go bad on 7g's. all you have to do is lock your wheel to the left, remove the plastic wheel well thing from the bottom (2 bolts) and you can your crankshaft pulley. 4 bolts about 30-45 mins to change. also the new pulley normally runs about $100-$130

i think this just happened to my 7g. the crankshaft pulley is crooked. alternator belt slipped off. how much you think it will cost a shop to fix it

replace the pulley. $120 at the dealer. take the driver side wheel off and the plastic cover. remove the crank pulley (4 bolts) and put the new one on. simple and smooth.
