ummm +45 is the factory offset. Don't go any lower or higher than that. Unless you do some nessesary mods
WHat kind of offset of the wheels can we get on our Galants?

what about +43 or +48 which one would be better or neither?

+48 will give you a better tuck under the fender and I think both are fine if you are not going wider than 8" wheels and tires no wider than 225. If you go wider than that with either spec. it's best to stay between +38 to +43 even though your tire will stick out past your fender (but you will not rub agains the inside).

will a wider tire affect performance? and so i can go ahead and get the 48? or what? I just want to know before I buy and it will not fit.

Wider tire means more weight, more gas, more surface contact, more traction, less tire tuck which means more chances of rubbing. For me, if I had a choice I would opt for more traction but would not go above an 8" wide wheel or less than +42 offset and no wider than 225/235 tires on 7.5"/8" wide wheels (respectively).Originally Posted by MiniSpdRcr

yep, bigger offset means wheel goes deeper into wheel well.Originally Posted by MiniSpdRcr

48 will tuck better but if you have a wider wheel it may rub on the inside more, so watch the width too

I don't think this is going to work at all. If you are going with 18's then it won't work for sure. I have +45 offset and 18X7.5 rim, I have only 1/2" of clearance on the inside.
If you go with 17X7.5 you should be fine, as long as you use 215/35or45 tires.
it should work. keyword should. i mean 3 more milimeters isn't that much, its around an 1/8th of an inch. but yea if possible try to test fit the rim b4 u buy emOriginally Posted by Pavel
