    Rattleing nosie form valve cover

    ok i have a problem my car how lose pick up but half at least i can bearly get across traffic but once i get rollen i get a little bit better pull but at wot i hear rattleing for the valvae cover know i hope it is not what i think it is which is bad timeing but i think it is damn it lol any way how would i test an could i fix it by adjustin my dis cap thanks a lot guys.

    Ok..I had to read your post a few times to understand what you are trying to post :?

    Are you saying that off initial acceleration the car is sluggish but when the RPMs get higher the car pulls normally?

    The "rattling" in the valve cover area, is this only during acceleration or can you hear during idling?

    1. If acceleration is sluggish or if the car in general is sluggish one of the first things I would do is a tune up if you never did one on the car or if the car hasn't recieved on in a long time.

    2. Now what worries me if what I am reading is correct is the car is sluggish and you hear "rattling" somewhere in the cylinder head area. You said you think its bad timing...well you could be right. I would do a compression test ASAP and make sure all cylinders are ok and I would make sure ALL timing marks are on spot.

    hey sorry it took me so long to reply but i figured it out it was bad timeing the srapk was fireing at 11 degrees form tdc where normaly it is 5 so that was it thanks alot for the help the site FUCKIN ROCKS lol
