    CEL

    if the CEL only comes on every once in a while on my G can i still get the codes from the ECU?(that is if a scanner can read it) or do i have to have a solid CEL? and thanks in advance for any help/advice

    there will be codes present if the light came on and went off, provided you didnt erase it.
