So, I have a strange question for you all.

Is it possible to take off the power steering lines and cap up the ends to create manual steering? What would have to be done to the pump? Could a simple bracket be fabricated to replace the pump's pulley?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I rather like manual steering. I WANT IT. So it's your job to help me out here, TGC!

    Thanks,
    -Ian

Easiest way to accomplish manual steering is to just remove the belt. If you like it, remove the pump and just cap the lines, no problems at all.

It has it's own separate belt? (This I should have known, but did not!) How...easy is it to get to this said belt?

    P.S. Thank you!

Its easy to get to. Thers 3 belts. One that goes around the ps pump and water pump, a bigger one that goes around the alt, water pump, and crank, and last one goes around the ac and crank.

So you can remove the ps pump belt no problem, the alt belt will still turn the water pump.

This process takes about 10 minutes, I take it, right?

    So....

    I have manual steering now!

    Check it out:

...and guess what? I LOVE IT! :-D

Besides, since I don't want it back, I just made it a two second job and cut the belt! (Yay for doing things the ghetto way!)
