    Hello:

Well is that time again, Auto tranny went bye bye, dont know if I should give away this car or not.

Well is any one works at a tranny shop I would be interested in purchasing the tranny bearings and races with your help for this tranny.

Due to the fact that this is my practice car now, im going to learn how to rebuild this tranny, I did the engine, lets see the tranny.

Well, seriously, im interested in getting in touch with some one that work at a tranny shop that can get the race and bearings for this tranny, I contacted Lory in Miami and they are a little bit puzz;ed about this. Im still working with them, but I need this soon.

    Thanks

Sounds like you need to just go 5 speed. Those tranny's are built far better than auto's. If you have problems finding info on galant tranny's, just have them look up 2g eclipse tranny stuff. It will fit the same. the gear ratio's are different, but it should bolt up just fine.

also do some searching around the 7g performance forum. lots of info there about tranny stuff.

    Well:

I found that a company in florida have parts for the km177-8 tranny, so I checked the price and it was kind of high, so I visited a local junk yarda nd found a tranny for $65.00 and got it. The clutches are burnt so no luck on that one, but I got the part I needed for only $65. and some extra parts that are new on this tranny Im going to use on my rebuilt tranny. so I think that I made ok by visiting the junk yard.

It was a pain to get, but its ok.

By the way, the junk yard is at www.wegotused.com. Bring your tools nad enjoy your visit. Use old clothes, and a friend, you pull the parts yourself or walk across the street and pay premium price for them to get the parts for you.
