Reading through this post about MAS and AFM unplugging.. I'm glad my 7G doesn't have one to start with!
i think everyone gives intakes too much credit......

Intakes alone won't do too much, I agree. But if you want to start making a N/A setup better, it's defiantly the place to start. Every great journey starts with a single step.Originally Posted by peanotation
I agree intakes dont do anything except they sound better than the stock airbox.
Light em up.
who needs a intake I run a screen on my turbo. No intake pipe here.

The only real difference I noticed from my intake was a slightly larger powerband that pulls strong from around 3000-4500
but I will say that as complete noob it was more about getting the first mod done than getting any real power increase.
Yeah I didn't notice a heck of alot of difference with the pod filter installed. I think I will notice it if I sectioned off a corner of the engine bay for the filter and had a good feed of cold air from the bumper going to it.
I need to track down some headers or get some custom headers made up for my V6, that combined with a Y pipe and bigger diameter exhaust right the way through would probably see an increase of power.
the only thing i noticed with the intake was better throtle response.

I just jammed my filter onto my factory intake pipe seeing as my 7G doesn't have an air flow meter.
wee need a mass adaptor and a bunch for couplings
