Shortdogg2k05 and I went to the steal-ership and took a test drive on the GTS. Safe to say if I wern't going to the armed service that would be my next car. I was sitting in the back seat and noticed the front seats were pushed all the way back but my legs could still fit (comfortably) like it did on the 8G. Overall, the Lancer itself is a major step up comp[ared to the lackuster predecesors (heard MMA fired the previous designers lol). HIDs, barely visible front bumper, awesome tranny, and a non turbo EVO engine is what makes this vehicle worth the money paid. Chad said these features may diminish the 9G's overall sales but we'll see...

price are close from the new lancer to the 9g galant. I think this will lessen the civics and corollas out there.

Am I the only one who thinks the new Lancer should have been the new Galant? (...runs and hides...)

I think Mitsu is right on the money with the new Lancer.

HAHAH. I was just thinking that this is going to be the new civic. Great style w/ a good price. I like it. Its a lil small but it looks great. Interior is a bit cheap now that I've seen on in person.

I'm still looking forward to the new EVO. I'm ready to purchase one as soon as they are released.

Reminds me of a Charger from the front.

I like it though. Looks more classy.

All i know is, i love the new lancer, and in 2 months i wont be on here much anymore b/c the galant is going up for sale.
Using the money off the 7g as a good down payment on my '08 lancer.
I will let you guys know how it drives
and should i get the CVT or the 5spd?

Never much cared for the lancer, and this one isn't much different. Looks too much like how every other automaker is getting these days. Mazda taillights, Volvo body, and a Subaru front end. That's what I see in the Lancer. The EVO looks much better, but...meh. 7/10.

"Why it is one of our most significant: We love the Lancer Evolution. The tenth iteration-previewed by this concept-should be the best-ever, with a more technologically advanced all-wheel drive system and over 300 horsepower, not to mention some more than attractive sheet metal that's bound to win over a few people who hated the look of the Evo IX. Oh, and it could help lift Mitsubishi out of a very tight spot here in America. Read our full story below.

X is Roman for ten. But we'd like to think it denotes and X rating--for the meanest, rawest Evo ever made. This future rally rocket was first previewed by the Concept X from last year's Tokyo auto show, and now a closer version is being shown here at Detroit. When the car goes on sale around this time next year, power will continue to come from a 2.0-liter turbo four, but output will push past the current Subaru WRX STI's 300-hp rating and a new, aluminum block will be used. Because it would be a shame not to use the new Outlander SUV's lovely magnesium-alloy paddle shifters, an automated manual transmission will be offered alongside a traditional 5-speed manual box. Naturally, the Evo will be driven by all four wheels, via a new S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system that Mitsubishi promises will rival Honda's SH-AWD in sophistication. The new system will feature active steering, active yaw control, and myriad electronic sensors. We hope S-AWC doesn't compromise the great steering possessed by Evos VIII and IX--after all, Mitsubishi promises this will be the "largest leap in overall capability between two generations of the Evolution."

I really like them except for how tall they are, I really dont like tall cars although they've shortened the lancer from the concepts. The GTS looks good but you wont see me buying the CVT trans, and anyone planning on modding a GTS would be retarded to buy it. If you're buying one for a commuter and nothing more the CVT will save you alot of fuel. I just dont see it taking to much abuse though, I dont see any current production CVT handleing much of anything outside of its design.

I think the DSG for the Evo is a good move, but I think that will drive the price tag up to where they would be stupid to not offer a cheaper 6spd. Only time will tell how durable that DSG will be. I've been talking to the local dealership and they might have me drive one at an autocross as a publicity stunt. It will probably be the DSG car with all the drivers aids. The biggest sucess mitsubishi could have with that car is if I get in it and cant tell the aids are there, if it does everything I ask it to do and doesnt fight me on any of it, they will have a winner.
