I'm selling my G
There is no level stick for 5 speed transmissons... There Is a bolt on the top part of transmission that can be used to fill the transmission...
As for fluids, I used Royal Purple from Pepboys 10w-90 or 80 ( I can't remember exactly)....
then how the fuck do i know if my baby needs some tranny fluid

to check your fluid level , you unbolt the check plug on the front of the trans case.
to fill the trans
you remove the check plug on the front of the case, and you remove the fill plug from the top of the case,
then you literally fill until the gear oil overflows from the check plug hole.(with car level)
then you put back in the check pllug, then the fill pllug. done.
for hydraulic clutch fluid.
i use any quality dot 4 or higher brake fluid.

yeah man,
since your GS has ABS,
its imperative that you flush that brake system out asap if you haven't
already(or recently.
the abs pump unit is prohibitively expensive.
for it to operate properly, and for it not to fail,
it needs clean fluid.
not to mention all the other standard reasons for keeping fresh fluid in ANY brake system

The Manual tranny's take about a little over 2 quarts of 75w/90w gear lube.

Thanks also, this is one of the things i plan on doing sunday, i ran out of clutch fluid at work so i had to put some brake fluid in the clutch pump just so i can make it home but now it looks like it has air bubbles in the system cause sometimes the clutch engages good but other times it does not so i plan on flushing the clutch and the brake systemOriginally Posted by DOHCstunr

This would be a good time inspect your clutch hydraulic system. Make sure the lines are in good condition and the slave cylinder isn't leaking. This thread reminds me I have to flush my clutch fluid on the GVR4 sometime this week.

yeah i just had to order a new clutch line for the supra cuz of it leaking, u dont want that to happen, my advice is to replace it just to be safe, it isnt that expensive, i paid 20 bux for a SS braided clutchline for my sup, i think the DSM ones are cheaper
Dude do you know where these plugs are located, ill try and get a pic and load it up so you guys can tell me where it isOriginally Posted by DOHCstunr

When you are under the car and you are looking towards the rear, look up at the tranny. there should be a bolt/bung about halfway up the front of the gear box.
Well, thats the case for most cars I have seen anyways.

the check plug is the one all by itself on the front of the case in the center of the pic. not the three stacked above each other.
the fill plug is actually hidden beneath one of the shift cables in the picture from above.
the drain plug is on the bottom of the trans of course.
its shoudl be pretty large, and have a shallow head to it.

Dude i feel stupid but i want to confirm what you just told me man,
Is this the plug in which to check the fluid level
1994 GS DOHC 2.4L 5spd (For Sale)
1996 S SOHC 2.4L 5spd (Up and Running)
yes thats the fill plug, or the level checker plug...fill that hole untill it overflows with fluid with car leveled of course. then bolt it back up. trust me i just changed my 5sp tranny fluid month ago... the drain plug is further down the tranny its a 17mm socket..its gonna be oddly lookng bolt, you have to get really under the car to see itOriginally Posted by Joaltava

you can fill there if you wish,

well guys i went ahead and took the bolt out and i think all the tranny fluid came out, now i know there is another bolt at the back of the tranny that is used to drain the tranny fluid.
Does anyone know what size of socket it is, i went ahead and tried and the biggest socket i have is a 19 but this bolt is bigger than that.
