it may be close, my tires are too small at 215/40/18 but you cold always try since its your friend rite?
this friend i know is selling these rims & tires from his buick, they are the right bolt pattern, 5x114.5. But the tire size is 245/40/18, will these rub on my 8g? I have the car lowered 1.7 in front and 1.3 in the rear.

it could work some people get away with 45 tires on 18's the only other things you would have to worry about is the width of the wheel and offset...again like someone else said if its a freind of yours why not ask if you can try one, and try it on the front and the back....without any other info its hard to give a better answer
i wouldn't do it. the tire is almost an inch wider than the 225/40 that most of us with 18's wear.
if the tires are still good and the wheels themselves will fit the car, i'd sell the tires and get new tires in the size that actually fits your car.

yea pinoys right i thought i read 2xx/45/18 just skimmed through really quick sorry about that....on the galant you really cant go any wider then a 35 series tire and taht is at teh very edge really, i am running 235/35/19's and they fit perfect, just a few mm inside with the jdm fender flares on an 8g so 245 will really stick out especially without the fender flares
im running a 215/40/18 but i guess thats the wrong size but it fits
Yes, they'll rub without rolling the fenders, which you'll have to roll them quite a bit to fit at all. Depending on the offset you may even rub in the front.
