well...i decided to test fit the turbo today....and as i thought....no good...the turbo will not mount on with the stock manifold off an evo...gonna have to go custom or use a tubular manifol already made from an evo..

these pics are from someone that did the same set-up over at club3g.com its DNS-EN's set up..

from what i know about his set up is that he is using the spacer at an angle which i have made already and non-modified after market manifold off an evo...

if you notice he still has the starter sheild on with no problems at all...my main question is if anybody knows...what is the difference between the cast iron manifold and the tubular one...from the pics above we can see that the tubular one sets the turbo slightly more upward than the cast iron???when i went to test fit...the cast iron manifold was only hanging on to to the left side of the block and would not reach the right side studs due to the damm starter being in the way...i would really hate to get a tubular manifold made from an evo and not fit which i dont see why it wouldnt fit due to the pics above...or i can just have a custom manifold made...what do u guys think???

if you look at the first picture... look at the bottom left corner of the manifold, he has a spacer thats why the manifold angles upwards and clears the starter.

you will need one of these

and you need to hav the flange ground to 1/4" on the top and 3/8" on the bottom so that it angles the exhaust up slightly... and you need longer studs.. i believe http://www.ssstuds.com/ has them

i thought it was only one but if its two, why not save yourself some trouble and weld a little length of pipe inbetween the flange and the runners to push it out away from the starter more

i already have that spacer at an angle...i got some extended manifold studs and did the spacer at 3/8 on the top and 1/2 at the bottom which gives it the same angle as 1/4 top 3/8 bottom...thats not the problem im having...its the STOCK manifold that does not even reach the block on the right side (it will not mount onto the studs and he is using a tubular manifold not the stock cast iron) due to the cold side on the turbo hitting the starter nasty style...anyways...i might be going with a custom manifold my local shop might make for me and go from there...

correction...just found out you cant use the stock manifold...unless you get two spacers or something like that...i need an after market tubular manifold with the spacer...or have the flange cut out and re-welded at an angel to push the turbo away from the starter...

getting this bad boy here....DC-Sports Brushed Manifold...

Hey man I knew I recognized that car!

You are the sole reason for why I got a Galant in the first place! I visit my dad every once in a while. He lives in Country Walk. I saw your car parked outside of where you work (I don't want to say where). I think my dad even asked you for your number so I could talk to you to see where you got your front bumper and skirts. Your car is beautiful. I really hope trigger can help me out with getting the bumper here. Seeing this car really gets me excited. I want my car to look just like that!!! :D
