4G is RWD, called Sigma or Galant for sedans, Sapporos for two door coupe only.

5G is FWD, in Galant, Eterna or Sigma form. The original poster's one is referred to as a 'hard top' as it has frameless windows - most hardtops have that slant-nose front and those funky rear tail lights. Some hard tops don't though.

In NZ the 5G was called a Sigma for the 4 cyl models or the V3000 for the 3L V6 and none were hardtop. In Australia the 5G was the base for their first gen Magna. In the EU the 2.4L model was called the Galant Sapporo, although later shortened to Sapporo - this Sapporo badge has no relation to the previous 4G Sapporo coupe.

The 5G has many variations, more than one would think. Out of all the generation Galants, the 5G has had the most transformations.
