    First pics with a DSLR

I finally sold my point and shoot camera and picked up a Rebel XTi. So far I really like it, and have been trying to practice with it.

So your keeping the XTi? I think Im keeping my XT and just upgrading to some better glass unless I get a lot more then expected with my tax returns. Congrats :)

If you keep the XTi, you have to get a battery grip! Made my camera 1000x more comfortable to use. The Opteka grip is just as good/as comfy as the Canon grip and at half the price of the Canon grip.

I was just looking at the Canon grip yesterday, but the price stopped me. I'm going to look into the Opteka. Thanks for the info. Here is a gallery I started to show some of my work. I'm learning more and more how to use this camera. http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e267/ReganH22/DSLR/

    Id rather order from BHPhotoVideo.

What did you use for a mount on the camera for the car shots? The car shots are neat, but probably would look a bit cleaner with a shorter shutterspeed, 30s seems a bit much, blurs everything together.

I just set up a regular tripod in my car and opened the sunroof lol. I will try lowering the shutter speed. I was wondering how I could make the pic sharper and cleaner. Icedout I am using the kit lens for everything, but the airplane pictures. I bought it at Circuit City last week when they had a really good sale going on. Is Amazon the only people who sale the battery grip? I'm going to be placing my order on payday.

I bought mine on eBay from this guy:

Then just bought two spare non-Canon batteries. Need to get a few more and another charger, since I dont have to charge my batteries but once every two weeks, I always forget to do it haha.

I still have the charger that came with the XT I bought. I forgot to put half the stuff back in the box when I took it back to Bestbuy. I noticed it when I got back home. I have an extra charger, neck strap, software, intruction book, and usb cable. Amazon has the grip and 2 batteries for $79. At least I think that was with 2 batteries. I'll have to check.
