I had my camera close by today so I decided to take some photos while coming back from Philly. Most of the time its crystal clear outside, but the one day I decide to take pictures the clouds got in the way. We are flying at 320 knots and descending from 29,000ft down to 11,000ft. The plane is a 757... turned out to be a rocket today since the load was so light.

You should try to take two exposures and merge them together so the sky isnt blown out. Take the one you have like in the first picture, then another with a fast shutter/and maybe an aperture of f/8 or f/11.
